Margaritaville Models (4 types) Comparison Table
Invalid table id.
At this moment there are 4 types of Margaritaville machines actively made and sold. There are many more old versions circling around but these are not maintained and upgraded.
The difference with the cheaper Margaritaville makers vs the Fiji DM2000 is:
- With this margarita maker you can make 1 or 2 or 3 servings and the machine adds the proper amount of ice. If you don’t want a full pitcher then with some of the cheaper ones you will have to decide on the timing and the amount of ice yourself.
- Has a knob to choose which of the different drinks you want to make: Rita’s, Daq’s, Colada’s or Smoothies. This will vary when to blend, how long to blend, when to add shaved ice and how much shaved ice should be added. So with this model you don’t have to learn how to make the different drinks yourself.
Drinks like:
Daq. = blended frozen fruit first then add ice and blend again.
Smoothie = blending simultaneously with more ice
Rita = blend a larger part of liquid with less ice
Mudslide = drink based on ice cream?
etc.
Summary of the margaritaville Fiji DM2000 – Key West:
So basically for this price difference you get a lot more automation in serving different drinks or smaller portions. This is great as you will have less to learn yourself. The quality is good. On the other hand you will need some place to store it. If it is worth the difference is up to you, in other words how often you make margaritas or other drinks, is it worth the difference.
